KISHINEV, February 15 (AVN) - The Moldovan army will take part in more than 100 events of the NATO-sponsored Partnership for Peace programme this year, Colonel Petru Bolun, head of the Defence Ministry military policy and foreign relations department, said on Tuesday.
The Defence Ministry proposes to increase the number of military events held in the territory of Moldova, Bolun said. The Moldovan General Staff has even set up a special department for their planning and organisation, he added.
Under the agreements written into the Partnership for Peace programme, Moldova will let its NATO partners use the military airfield in the Merkuleshty locality for peacemaking missions.
