KHANKALA, February 16 (AVN) - In the past three days federals have arrested over 50 guerrillas who tried to leave the city of Grozny pretending civilians or hid in the ruins, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency.
The separatists are preparing terrorist acts in the cities of Gudermes, Shali and Grozny, federal commanders learned. It is decided to strengthen the Interior Ministry troops group in these districts.
At present federals control the Vedeno gorge and continue the mopping-up operation in it.
Guerrillas still occupy the localities of Shatoi and Duba-Yurt in the Argun gorge.
Federal troops have eliminated up to 80 separatists and arrested 17 of them in the past 24 hours.
