AVTURY, February 18 (AVN) -- A paratroops regiment under command of Colonel Nikolay Maiyorov has blocked the Khatuni and Kirov-Yurt localities of the Vedeno district on Friday, a source in the eastern federal group staff told the Military News Agency.
According to Major-General Sergey Makarov, the eastern federal group commander, the paratroops suffered no losses.
Pioneer units have detained caches with 82mm mortar and other ammo in the area, the source said. At the moment the caches are being prepared for demolition.
