KHANKALA, March 9 (AVN) -- The ID-check special operation was resumed in the Komsomolskoye locality Thursday morning, a source in the western Interior Ministry group of the unified federal group told the Military News Agency.
The Interior detachments from the towns of Bryansk, Yaroslavl and Rostov-on-Don, entered the locality on Wednesday, the source said.
The troops are rebuffing the breakaway attempts of the rebels under command of warlord Ruslan Gelayev, who addressed the main separatist forces on the radio Wednesday calling for reinforcements.
According to the Interior Ministry troops command, currently there are no civilians left in Komsomolskoye.
In the course of the Wednesday battle for the locality, two troops of the chief penitentiary department were killed in action and seven servicemen of the Interior Ministry were wounded, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told the Agency.
The losses of the rebels made some 500 men, the spokesman added.
