BELARUSSIAN LEADER CUTS FINANCING OF STATE ADMINISTRATION BODIES

MINSK, March 13 (AVN) - President Alexander Lukashenko has decreed to reduce spendings on maintenance of state administration bodies, a spokesman for the Defence Ministry military budget department said on Monday.

Under this decree, budget allocations for maintenance of state bodies, including the presidential administration, government, parliament, ministries and departments, will be reduced 10 percent this year, the spokesman told the Military News Agency.

The reduction will also concern the Belarussian Defence Ministry, the spokesman went on. It will have to cut spendings on business trips, maintenance of service cars, purchase of materials, repairs of offices, etc.

The President is planning to save over four billion Belarussian roubles (USD4m) by this reduction. The money will be allocated for urgent needs of the country's health protection system.
