MOSCOW, March 14 (AVN) - The Sibiryakov hydrographic ship of the Baltic Fleet will arrive in Monaco on Wednesday, a spokesman for the Navy Staff told the Military News Agency.
The ship has aboard a delegation of Russian naval surveyors headed by Admiral Anatoly Komaritsyn, chief of the Defence Ministry main navigation and oceanography department. It is planning to attend an international hydrographic conference which is to take place in Monaco from March 16 to 26.
Russian naval surveyors will take part in discussion of issues related to navigation security and ocean exploration in the 21st century.
The Sibiryakov ship was built in the Polish city of Gdansk (keel laid in May 1989, adopted by the Navy in April 1990). Its displacement is 2,280/3,450t, length 85m, width 15m, height 5m. The ship's speed is 15 knots, and it can sail autonomously for up to 40 days with the maximum range of 11,000 miles. The crew numbers 50 people.
