KOVROV, Central Russia, March 21 (AVN) - Kovrov mechanics plant sent 10 9A-91 assault rifles for tests in Baltic Fleet coastal forces, Aleksey Iksakov, the plant's special design bureau constructor-general told the Military News Agency Tuesday.
According to specialists, the new 9A-91 assault rifle is one of the lightest (1,75kg without the magazine) and one of the most reliable in its class.
The rifle shoot special high-penetration SP-5 and SP6 9mm cartridges. The magazine holds 20 cartridges. The barrel resource of 9A-91 is 6,000 rounds.
