MOSCOW, March 27 (AVN) - Acting President Vladimir Putin prolonged the time of service of Defence Minister Igor Sergeyev for another year, a well-informed source in the Defence Ministry told the Military News Agency.
Previously all the sources said Sergeyev would be dismissed from the service in April as soon as he turns 62.General Andrei Nikolayev, head of the State Duma defence committee, Chief-of-Staff Anatoly Kvashnin, and First Deputy Defence Minister Nikolai Mikhailov were named among Sergeyev's most likely successors.
