MILITARY CHAIRS IN RUSSIAN UNIVERSITIES TO BE REDUCED

MOSCOW, March 29 (AVN) - The number of military chairs in the Russian higher educational establishments will be substantially reduced, a source in the Defence Ministry military education department told the Military News Agency.

The Defence and Education Ministries are discussing the number of the establishments to lose the chairs, which is the toughest question so far. The military want to reduce 30 percent of the chairs, their partners approve of only 10 percent reduction.

The reform is accounted for the reduction of the Armed Forces 1,200,000 men in the past decade, the source said.

The Defence Ministry also plans to change the profile of the military specialities, the number of military professions, which graduates can get at the military chairs of the Russian higher educational establishments.
