ROSTOV-ON-DON, March 31 (AVN) - President-elect Vladimir Putin decreed the appointment of Colonel Alexander Solovyov the North Caucasian military district deputy commander for rear, a source in the Defence Ministry told the Military News Agency.
Solovyov replaced Lieutenant-General Valery Moskovchenko, who was appointed head of the Military Rear and Transport Academy.
Solovyov was born in the town of Rovenki (Voroshilovograd region) in 1954. In 1976 he graduated from the Volskoye Rear Military College, in 1984 from the Military Rear and Transport Academy, and in 1997 from the General Staff Military Academy.
Since 1998, Solovyov occupied the post of the deputy rear chief of the North Caucasian military district.
