ST.PETERSBURG, April 3 (AVN) - The local Klimov plant has completed upgrading the GTD-1250 tank engine up to 1,400 h/p, Alexander Sarkisov, the plant's constructor-general, told the Military News Agency.
The Klimov plant has developed and tested T-80 GTD-1000T/F and GTD-1250 tank gas-turbine engines of 1,000 and 1,250 h/p respectively. They are now widely used by the Russian army. At present the enterprise is developing a new modification of 1,500 h/p GTD 1500G with hydro-volume transmission.
