ALLOYS PRODUCERS ENDANGER COMPETITIVENESS OF DEFENCE INDUSTRY

MOSCOW, April 3 (AVN) - Russian airspace and other defence industry products are in danger of losing their competitiveness on the world markets, Yevegeny Kablov, director general of the All-Russian aviation materials institute and member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, said on Monday.

The recent decision of metallurgic enterprises, manufacturers of aluminium, magnesium, titanium, and nickel alloys, to raise the prices for their products by some 2.5 times, is absolutely groundless and stems from monopolistic interests, Kablov told the Military News Agency.

According to him, the situation is also complicated by the fact that the prices for the preforms, made of these alloys, have also increased.
