AIRBORNE INSTITUTE GRADUATES STARTING ON MOUNTAIN MARCH

MOSCOW, April 4 (AVN) - The cadets of the graduate class of the Ryazan Airborne Institute will hold mountain, firing and special training, practice the driving of airborne combat vehicles in the mountainous terrain at the Rayevsky testing ground under the city of Novorossiysk in April, Major-General Valery Sherback, the institute's chief told the Military News Agency.

The graduates will make several day and night marches, covering more than 300km of mountain serpentine roads . The march will end with an airdrop under Ryazan. The graduate exams will be held in May. 270 graduates will be sent to troops in mid-July.

The Ryazan Airborne Institute prepares airborne officers of two basic specialisations: armoured and conventional vehicles engineers and military interpreters. Alongside with the Russian cadets, the institute educates 120 cadets from the CIS and China.
