KHANKALA, April 6 (AVN) - Command bodies of a federal motorised rifle regiment will begin their permanent stationing in the Kalinovskaya village of the northern Chechen Naursky district on Friday, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency.
The 2,500-strong regiment was formed on the basis of the Taman guard division of the Moscow military district and will be included into the 42nd motorised rifle division, the spokesman said. Its relocation from the Moscow region began on Tuesday.
The 42nd division has already formed its communication battalion to be stationed in the Grozny suburban village of Khankala. The village will also host the division headquarters and two regiments.
Another permanent Russian garrison will be stationed in the south of the Argun gorge, which is in the southern Chechen Itum Kale district. The area is currently controlled by the 138th separate motorised rifle brigade of the Leningrad military district. A motorised rifle regiment of the 42nd division will be formed to replace it.
