MOSCOW, April 7 (AVN) - Experts of the 107th project design department for development of the Air Force automation means started building an automated regiment command post, Colonel Vasily Durnev, deputy head of the department told the Military News Agency.
The first CP will be sent to one of the regiments of the 4th Air Force and Air Defence army with staff in the city of Rostov-on-Don in September-October 2000, Durnev said.
Comfortable conditions have been created for the combat squad of the planning group. Apart from full set of special instruments, automated regiment CP is equipped with reliable life support system. It includes, for instance, two filter-vent devices, creating positive pressure inside the working room and an air conditioner.
Apart from the automated regiment CP a stationary starter CP is being built on the base of a container body. Both CPs can be delivered to the destination site by air (onboard IL-76 Candid transport or on outer suspension of a helicopter), and by land (on KAMAZ type trucks.) The CPs can be put into combat condition in minimum time.
