DISBANDED UKRAINIAN NATIONAL GUARD ORDNANCE SOLD TO AFRICA

KIEV, April 7 (AVN) - As many as 20 Ukrainian BTR-60PB IFVs are prepared for shipment to Africa at the local automobile repair plant, a spokesman for the Defence Ministry chief automobile department told the Military News Agency.

The IFVs belonged to the disbanded National Guard of the republic, the spokesman said.

According to him, this order is not profile for the plant, headed by Colonel Viktor Yavdak. The company is specialising in repairs of KAMAZ trucks, but the customer offered a very profitable contract.

The repaired IFVs are most likely to be shipped to one of the African trouble spots, the spokesman continued. The customer has pushed forward a strict condition - the IFVs should be able to enter combat right after being unloaded, he added.
