FEDERAL BORDER GUARD SERVICE CHIEF TO VISIT TURKEY

MOSCOW, April 10 (AVN) - Colonel-General Konstantin Totsky, Federal Border Guard Service director, will go to Istanbul on invitation of Turkish party Wednesday, Lieutenant-General Alexander Manilov, chief of the international conventional department of the service told the Military News Agency.

In the cource of the two-day visit an agreement will be signed with the Turkish Coastal Guard in the sphere of border co-operation. The agreement presupposes exchange of information between the border services of the countries, development of interaction in sea rescue issues, and also mutual curbing of drugs smuggling and illegal migration.

The visit will be conducted on the eve of the Istanbul conference of states of the Black Sea region, scheduled for May 7-9. The conference will discuss the question of co-operation in rolling back the poaching in the region, clampdown on the illegal migration and criminal groups' activities, Manilov added.
