KHANKALA, April 11 (AVN) - Federal SU-24 Fencer front-line bombers have flown four and MI-24 Hind fire support helicopters 12 missions in Chechnya in the past 24 hours, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency.
The main strikes were inflicted on guerrilla bases and strong points in mountainous Chechnya. According to preliminary data, three rebel gangs totalling up to 50 militants, two fortified areas, a truck and a communication centre were eliminated.
An IL-76 Candid military transport airlifted 203 servicenen from the area of operation to central Russia. MI-26 Halo helicopters transported over 300 servicemen and up to 10t of various cargo to the Chechnya-Dagestan and Chechnya-Georgia borders.
