ST.PETERSBURG, April 11 (AVN) - The Poisk R&D Institute, Russia's main developer and producer of ammunition control systems, received a USD4m export order for the year 2000, Nikolay Platonov, the enterprise deputy director general for research and marketing, told the Military News Agency.
The institute's export order for this year grew by USD0.5m, Platonov said. Poisk is planning to increase its income by mounting production of fuses for shells used in the Universal artillery systems. The client is the Indian Navy, and Poisk is acting as a contractor of the Moscow Machine Building R&D Institute.
Apart from that the enterprise plans to boost production of fuses for Granit cruise anti-ship missiles and Uran attack anti-ship missiles, Platonov said. The frigates built for India at the Baltic shipyard will get the Uran missiles in thei weaponry.
Over 80 percent of the military products developed at the institute is exported to foreign countries such as India, China, Vietnam and Finland.
