MOSCOW, April 12 (AVN) - In the second half of year 2000, the production plan for AL-31F engines, mounted on the fighters of the SU-27 Flanker family will be revised and enlarged, Vladimir Suralev, deputy director general of the Moscow Salut machine building enterprise told the Military News Agency.
According to him, the increase of AL-31F production stems from execution of export orders from China (SU-30MKK) and India (SU-30MKI). Apart from that AL-31F is likely to be supplied to other clients, that are kept secret so far.
The enterprise built over 100 AL-31F engines in 1999 that was exceeding the market demand for them. But almost all the stock has nonetheless been used up, Suralev said.
