RUSSIA MIGHT SUPPLY 12 FLANKERS TO VIETNAM

MOSCOW, April 14 (AVN) - The Sukhoi corporation management began consultations on possible supply of SU-27 Flanker fighters to Vietnam, an informed source in the Sukhoi design bureau told the Military News Agency.

According to some estimation, Vietnam will get 12 new Flankers. One of the variants considered is a multirole SU-30K fighter, built in Irkutsk, Siberia.

The contract if signed will be a logical continuation of supplies of six Flankers (four SU-27UBKs and two SU-27SKs) made to Vietnam in 1997.

Considering the base price of a Flanker, the total sum of the contract might reach USD350-400m, the source said.
