MOSCOW, April 17 (AVN) - A total of 156,976 forced migrants have returned to their hometowns and villages in the Chechen republic, a source in the Federal Migration Service told the Military News Agency.
Almost 222,000 refugees from Chechnya are still present in the adjacent republics of Ingushetia, North Ossetia and Dagestan and in the Stavropol territory, the source said.
The bulk of the refugees live with relatives or in the private sector. 31,426 people are stationed in 7 temporary camps in Ingushetia. Other 10,540 refugees stay in 5 temporary camps in Chechnya, the source added.
