OVER 100 SHIPS USED IN RUSSIAN FLEETS' EXERCISES

KALININGRAD, Western Russia, April 21 (AVN) - The Baltic Fleet has ended its spring exercise, which began on April 3, Vice-Admiral Nikolay Mikheyev, head of the Navy combat training department told the Military News Agency.

The ships and units of the coastal group of the Baltic Fleet accomplished 322 combat exercises, nine qualification tactical and three competitive tactical exercises, 37 course and 11 antisubmarine tasks. The vessels of the water area guard participated in submarine seeking games for a prise of the Navy commander for the first time in five years.

Over 100 ships of the Navy put out to sea on the closing phase of the fleets' exercises. Over one third of them was from the Baltic Fleet that showed the highest results in accomplishing combat training tasks.
