HANOI, May 4 (AVN) - The fourth ASEAN interim meeting on problems of aid provision in natural disasters opened here on Thursday.
The forum is attended by representatives of 27 Southeast Asian and Pacific states. The Russian delegation to the meeting is headed by Deputy Emergency Minister Lieutenant-General Stanislav Suanov.
The participants aim to work out a single approach towards readiness for reaction to natural disasters. They will discuss interaction on the sphere of information exchanges, joint reaction to emergency situations, and early warning and mutual aid in natural disasters.
The forum will also consider establishment of a regional centre to receive satellite data on natural disasters and a regional group to assess their consequences, a member of the Russian delegation told the Military News Agency.
