PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, May 5 (AVN) - A fire broke out at the Sadko icebreaker of the the Troops and Forces of the Northeast auxiliary vessels brigade, a source in the Kamchatka group staff told the Military News Agency.
The fire was caused by a short circuit in the ship wiring. As a result two cabins and 70m of cable were burnt down.
Owing to co-ordinated actions of the ship's crew and fast-on-the-spot fire-fighting brigade the fire was quickly localised and liquidated. There are no losses. The repair of the Sadko icebreaker will take no more than three weeks, the source said.
