MINSK, May 11 (AVN) - The board of the Russian-Belarussian border guard committee will hold its next session here on Thursday, a spokesman for the Belarussian Border Guard Troops Committee told the Military News Agency.
The session will be attended by Director of the Russian Federal Border Guard Service Konstantin Totsky and Belarussian border chief Alexander Pavlovsky, the spokesman said.
According to him, the participants will discuss over 10 issues, including amendments to the Russian-Belarussian treaty on pooling efforts for protection of the Belarussian state border as of February 21, 1995.
Besides, they will consider the joint target-oriented programme for infrastructure development on the western frontiers of the Union of Russia and Belarus in 2001-2007, as well as the plan for implementation of the border control development concept.
After that, heads of the committee's main departments will report to the board on the implementation of earlier decisions, the spokesman went on. The board will also discuss further work on the technical backing of the border protection and training of personnel for the Belarussian border guard troops in Russian higher military educational establishments, he said.
