POLAND, RUSSIA CO-ORDINATING BORDER EMERGENCY INTERACTION

KALININGRAD, May 12 (AVN) - The first meeting of the civil defence and emergency situation bodies heads of the Kaliningrad Region and the Warminsko-Mazurskie Wojivodztwo military district of Poland ended here Friday, a source in the region's administration told the Military News Agency.

The Polish party was represented by the head of the district's crisis management, population protection and civil defence department and his deputy.

The Russian side was represented by Colonel Alexander Kulchitsky, head of the region's chief department for civil defence and emergency situations.

The meeting discussed the questions of population and territory protection from emergency situations, exchanged a portfolio of documents for industrial and environmental monitoring in the Warminsko-Mazurskie district and the Kaliningrad region border areas.

An agreement was reached for interaction in preventing emergency situations and liquidation of their aftermath in the territory of the Kaliningrad region and the Warminsko-Mazurskie district.
