NAZRAN, May 12 (AVN) - The Military News Agency learned the circumstances of Thursday rafale of the Interior Ministry troops motorcade from sources in the Ingushetia law-enforcement structures.
The motorcade of the 680th operative regiment of the 99th operative division was moving from the command post to Vladikavkaz. It fell into an ambush four kilometres north of the locality of Galashka at 11.30 Mosow time (0730 GMT). The engagement lasted for about 20 minutes. As a result of the attack the motorcade was fully eliminated, 18 people died, including four officers and a woman, three servicemen were wounded, one was missed. The motorcade was commanded by Captain S. Maziyev.
A mobile group of the Ingush Interior Ministry, Sunzhensky interior department, groups of Ingush patrol service and elite police, on-duty services and forces of the 99th operative division are involved in search and rescue operations in the area. Ingush Interior Minister Khamzat Gurtsiyev is commanding the operation, the sources added.
