ST.PETERSBURG May 12 (AVN) - A military construction battalion has been formed on the base of the 76th construction unit of the Defence Ministry north-western military construction department, a spokesman for the department said on Friday.
The battalion will provide the base for the units to be permanently stationed in Chechnya, the spokesman told the Military News Agency.
According to him, the first echelon will be sent to Chechnya already in the near future. The battalion comprises experienced officers and ensigns, and sergeants and soldiers who had served the minimum of six months, the spokesman added.
