MOSCOW, May 12 (AVN) - The meeting of the Defence Ministry Board scheduled for May 16 will discuss the suggestions on the improvement of education, moral and psychological impact and information support system in the army and navy, brought forward by Colonel-General Vitaly Azarov, head of the Armed Forces education, a source in the ministry said Friday.
The suggestions have been formed based on the reports of the services and branches commanders, heads of military districts and fleets, and with regard to the experience of the Chechnya campaign, peacekeeping operations and combat duty, the source told the Military News Agency.
According to him, the board meeting will discuss four main suggestions, namely, the development of a five-year presidential target-oriented programme for raising the social status of servicemen and the prestige of military service; the organisation strengthening of educational bodies and the restoration of incumbencies of deputies for education in the higher command (Armed Forces services and branches); the establishment of a presidential council for state-patriotic and military education of servicemen; and, the establishment of a governmental military commission, that will be put in charge of restoring the historical military traditions, satisfying the spiritual and cultural needs of servicemen and their families.
