PRISTINA, May 12 (AVN) - NATO Allied Commander Europe General Joseph Ralston met Russian Military Contingent in Kosovo Commander Lieutenant-General Valery Yevtukhovich during the visit to KFOR staff, a source in the contingent's staff in Slatina told the Military News Agency.
Ralston praised the professionalism of the Russian airborne troops and stated that one of the priorities of his work will be the strengthening of NATO-Russia relations.
The Russian military contingent of 3,300 officers and contract airborne troops has been on a peacekeeping mission in Kosovo since June 10, 1999. The total area of the contingent's responsibility zone makes 1,500 square kilometres.
