ALMA-ATA, Kazakhstan, May 19 (AVN) - A protocol on bilateral military and technical co-operation development was signed here Friday as a result of the visit of Russian Air Force Commander Anatoly Kornukov, the Military News Agency learned.
The document was signed by Kornukov and his Kazakh counterpart Mukhtar Altymbayev.
The protocol envisages the transfer of 10 SU-27 Flankers with spare parts and three S-300PS air defence systems to the Kazakh party this year. The Russian party also undertakes to organise a training of Kazakh aviation, air defence and radio specialists in its military educational establishments. The sides have agreed on a series of other measures aimed at providing a secure protection of the CIS air borders.
General Kornukov is to return to Moscow on Friday.
