MOSCOW, May 19 (AVN) - A two-day visit of US National Security Assistant Samuel Berger initiated by SC Secretary Sergei Ivanov ended Friday, the Military News Agency learned.
The visit was connected with preparations for the US-Russian summit due for early June 2000. Berger had an audience with President Vladimir Putin. He also held talks with Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov and Sergei Ivanov.
The meetings were dedicated to the strategic stability and perspectives of economic co-operation. The sides paid special attnetion to the questions of curbing terrorism and crime, co-operation in the line of the atomic energy ministries, enforcing the regime of WMD and their supply means non-proliferation.
Shortly before his departure, Berger also visited the All-Russia Aviation Materials Institute, a unique material research centre.
