PACIFIC FLEET MILITARY COUNCIL TO CONSIDER FIRE-FIGHTING SECURITY

VLADIVISTOK, May 23 (AVN)- One of the fundamental issues to be considered at the Pacific Fleet military council meeting on Wednesday will be the fleet's bases and warehouses fire-fighting security, a source in the fleet's staff told the Military News Agency.

The recent emergencies at the Leningrad and Far East military districts warehouses forced the fleet's command to take urgent measures for preventing similar cases.

Rear-Admiral Ivan Moiseyenko, head of the fleet's artillery department will present his point of view on the matter. Pacific Fleet Commander Admiral Mikhail Zakharenko will sum up the winter period tasks and outline the tasks for the summer training period. Rear-Admiral Vladimir Ivanov, technical department head, will report on the ships technical readiness.
