FED AVIATION HAMMERS REBEL GATHERINGS UNDER DUBA-YURT

KHANKALA, May 24 (AVN) - Over the past 24 hours SU-25 Frogfoot attack planes have flown six, an AN-30 Clank reconnaissance plane - one and MI-24 Hind and MI-8 Hip army aviation helicopters - over 30 sorties in Chechnya, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency on Wednesday.

The main strikes were inflicted upon rebel bases and gatherings in highland woodlands near the localities of Duba-Yurt, Bolshiye Varandy and Malye Varandy. The results of the strikes are being specified, the spoesman said.

An IL-76 Candid military transport evacuated some 200 servicemen to Central Russia. MI-26 Halo and MI-8 Hip helicopters have airlifted about 40t of different agricultural loads to hard-to-reach Chechen highlands in the past four days.
