VLADIKAVKAZ, May 31 (AVN) - The detachments of special forces and Interior Ministry troops are still combing the Samashki woodland in Chechnya, a source in the 58th combined army staff told the Military News Agency.
According to the reconnaissance, up to 200 guerrillas have been hiding in the woodland located between the villages of Samashki, Zakan-Yurt, Shaami-Yurt and Novyi Sharoi. The separatists were making raids on Grozny and the federal Caucasus motorway from there.
The Interior Ministry troops have blocked all the main roads in the area, set up additional outposts. The reconnaissance units of the Defence Ministry have been going on search operations in the woodland for two days. 23 empty rebel funk-holes were exposed. 12 people were detained, they are now checked by the law enforcers.
