MOSCOW, May 31 (AVN) -The Russian Management Systems Agency will turn to the consideration of the Russian government the question of creating a federal demonstrational centre at the 4th state Kapustin Yar testing ground of the Defence Ministry in Arkhangelsk region, Vladimir Simonov, the agency's director general told the Military News Agency.
The centre will be used for showing arms and materiel to fareign clients, including in shooting modes.
The initiative to set up the centre came from the Arkhangelsk region administration to the then Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in 1999. The commission of the General Staff, the Strategic Missile Forces, management systems, arms agencies reconnoitred the ground on February 28 - March 5 2000 following the government's decision of August 25 1999.
The centre will be deployed on boards that provide for necessary sectors of firing for the air defence systems of five - six firing means and other systems of different range, five- six planes flying around them, the work of automated management systems of one - two models and five - six radars. The demonstrational base can have 10-12 shows per year.
According to Simonov, a draft decision of the government concerning the financing and maintaining the infrastructure of the centre has already been prepared.
