BALTIC FLEET TRAINING PLAN ENVISAGES ONE MORE SEA VOYAGE IN 2000

KALININGRAD, June 1 (AVN) - The Russian Baltic Fleet has yet to complete 35 percent of this year's drillings in the course of the summer training period that started on Thursday, Deputy Fleet Commander Vice Admiral Vladimir Valuyev told the Military News Agency.

The fleet completed 65 percent of trainings during the winter period, Valuyev said. In the course of the summer period the main stress will be laid on the theoretical preparation of all personnel categories, the studies of tactics adopted by foreign armies and navies, as well as their new armament.

Only one more complex sea voyage is envisaged by the 2000 training plan, Valuyev said. According to him, it will take place in August.
