MOSCOW, June 22 (AVN) - Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Ivanov met Indian Foreign Minister Jaswant Singh in the Kremlin on Thursday, a source in the SC administration told the Military News Agency.
Commenting on the results of the meeting, Ivanov specifically stressed that the co-operation with India remained one of the top priorities in the Russian foreign policy.
According to him, the current level of bilateral relations, the vast scope of interaction between the two countries, allow for a co-ordination of efforts in all the directions and back the real base of the forming Russian-Indian strategic partnership.
The Russian-Indian summit scheduled for October 2000 will be one of the most significant events in the relations of the two countries this year, Ivanov said. In the course of the meeting the leaders of the two countries are expected to sign a founding act on the relations between Russia and India, that is a declaration of strategic partnership, and a series of other agreements in various fields.
