KALININGRAD, Western Russia, July 5 (AVN) - The Kaliningrad region court has convicted nine officers of the Moskovsky district law enforcement, the Military News Agency learned.
The court proceedings lasted for over six months. Seven officers of the district criminal investigation department together with their chief, deputy chief of the district's public order and a road police officer were accused of power abuse with application of force. In addition to that three of them were accused of murder threats, and the other three of falsehood in office.
16 victims were involved in the case.
The court pronounced all of the tried guilty. However, only one of them will actually serve a four years' term. The other "protectors of law and order" were amnestied.
According to the Agency's information, yet another officer of the said district is to be tried soon. He is accused of bribe-taking.
