ZVEZDA MODULE TO START FOR ISS WEDNESDAY

MOSCOW, July 10 (AVN) - Combat squads of the Strategic Missile Forces (SMF) and specialists of the Russian Aviation and Space Agency (RASA) are preparing the launch of the Proton-K booster rocket that is to deliver the Zvezda service module to the International Space Station, the Military News Agency learned on Monday.

The launch is to be effected from Platform 81 of the Baikonur state testing spaceport on Wednesday, Lieutenant-General Valery Grin, who chairs the interstate commission for piloting programmes and the oncoming launch, told the Agency.

The Proton-K booster and the Zvezda module were put on Launcher 23 on July 8 and are currently undergoing pre-launch tests, he added.
