NIZHNY TAGIL, Southern Urals, July 11 (AVN) - A demonstration of Russian armament systems under a scenario of a real attack operation will be held at the URAEXPOARMS 2000 exhibition here on Wednesday, Valery Rudenko, director of the local Metal Testing Institute that will host the demonstration, told the Military News Agency.
According to him, the plan of the demonstration envisages an aerial reconnaissance of the manoeuvre enemy by a Pchela-T distantly piloted unmanned aerial vehicle. Then a strike will be inflicted by a MI-24 Hind helicopter and MIG-29 Fulcrum plane. The aviation will be followed by IMR, BREM and BMR mine-clearance vehicles. After that the T-80, T-90S newest tanks and the prominent T-34 WWII tank will pierce into the pass. Simultaneously the artillery will hammer the targets. It will use Akatsya self-propelled modernised artillery systems and MSTA-S systems of Russian and NATO calibre, as well as Tyulpan and Giatsint self-propelled mortars. The troops will be protected from air strikes by the S-300V air defence system that will be deployed right after the march. The demonstration will end in combat vehicle parade. It is expected that the show will outmatch that held the UAE capital Abu Dhabi.
Another show is planned for Friday, when President Vladimir Putin will visit the exhibition. But the sponsors have not disclosed its programme so far.
