FED AVIATION MAKES SOME 50 SORTIES IN CHECHNYA SINCE TUESDAY

KHANKALA, July 12 (AVN) - Over the past 24 hours federal aviation in Chechnya accomplished some 50 missions, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency on Wednesday.

According to the spokesman, SU-25 Frogfoot fighter bombers went on 16 combat missions, AN-30 Clank reconnaissance plane flew one sortie, and MI-24 Hind and MI-8 Hip army aviation helicopters made over 30 flights.

The planes and choppers whaled at the guerrilla bases in the Argun and Vedeno canyons in the south of the breakaway republic. The results of the strikes are being specified.

An Emergency Ministry IL-76 Candid cargo aircraft delivered 18t of humanitarian load to Mozdok.
