TBILISI, July 12 (AVN) - Over 80 servicemen of the 62nd Russian military base in Akhalkalaki were hospitalised with intestinal intoxication, a source in the medical service of the Russian military group in the Trans-Caucasian region told the Military News Agency on Wednesday.
The state of the patients is average, no life-threat is present, the source said.
According to him, the cause of the intoxication will be found out by the end of the day. According to one of the version it could have been caused by the poor quality of rations.
Separate cases of intestinal intoxication as a result of consumption of low-quality nutritious products in the group are quite frequent, the source admitted. This is connected with the bad performance of local procurers, as well as of the centralised supply network, that is often sending in expired foodstuffs.
