NIZHNY TAGIL, South-western Siberia, July 12 (AVN) - At the present moment Russian arms arouse the interest of both third-world countries and industrially developed members of NATO, Deputy Prime Minister Ilya Klebanov told the Military News Agency on Wednesday.
The current ULRAEXPOARMS 2000 exhibitions shows off a large variety of weapons that do not have analogues in the world, he pointed out. However, the USA will not be able to purchase them, given the legislative restrictions demanding that the military purpose products for the US Army are produced by domestic enterprises.
"In connection with that, currently we are studying the possibility of establishing Russian-American military production joint ventures," Klebanov said. What is even more important we want them to be located in Russia, he added.
The deputy prime minister discarded the common opinion, that as of today Russia exports weapons, that are not and will not be employed by its own Armed Forces. "I do not know anything about such precedents," he said. According to him, the equipment sold abroad, such as for instance the SU-30MKI Flanker multipurpose fighter, the T-90S tank, and others, have the same technical characteristics, as the models employed in Russia.
