IZHMASH CONCERN DEMONSTRATES PISTOLS AT URALEXPOARMS 2000

NIZHNY TAGIL, July 12 (AVN) - The Izhmash concern is demonstrating a wide rage of new pistols at URALEXPOARMS 2000, Dmitri Varlamov, concern's constructor told the Military News Agency.

Among the pistols are Grach 6P35, Rex MR412, Skif MR448, Bagira MR444, etc.

According to Varlamov, Grach 6P35 is being tested in the Russian Armed Forces. The pistol is created for 7N21 cartridge, having high level of piercing. Gratch's magazine has 18 cartridges. The pistol is equipped with security elements - cartridge chamber cursor and safety hooks on both sides for left and right hands.

Rex MR412 is the first Russian pistol having plastic frame, which allowed to reduce 300 grams of its weight. The visitors of the exhibition are very much interested in Skif MR448, the same as Makarov pistol but with plastic grip and improved ergonomics. Pistol's magazine has a button hook, which makes the operation more convenient. There is also a Skif-mini, which is 20 centimetres shorter then Makarov pistol and good for secret bearing.

Izhmash also created a special Varyag pistol loaded by the Smith and Wesson and 9X19 Parabellum cartridges. It was created for the foreign buyers. The pistol has a regulated sight and can be used at sports competitions. Bagira MR444, the compact model of the pistol for the law enforcement, is also demonstrated at the exhibition. It's magazine has 15 cartridges.
