KHANKALA, July 13 (AVN) - Over the past 24 hours federal aviation in Chechnya accomplished some 60 missions, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency on Thursday.
According to the spokesman, SU-25 Frogfoot fighter bombers went on 16 combat missions, AN-30 Clank reconnaissance plane flew one sortie, and MI-24 Hind and MI-8 Hip army aviation helicopters made about 40 flights.
The planes and choppers whaled at the guerrilla bases in the Argun and Vedeno canyons in the south of the breakaway republic. The results of the strikes are being specified.
IL-76 Candid transport aircraft delivered 153 servicemen to the main base in Mozdok and took 81 soldiers and five tons of technical loads back to central Russia. MI-8 and MI-26 Halo helicopters carried 36 military medics and 18 tons of economy loads to the hard-to-reach Chechen regions.
