NIZHNY TAGIL, South-western Siberia, July 14 (AVN) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived here Friday to visit URALEXPOARMS 2000 show, the Military News Agency learned Friday.
Putin is going to spend more then two hours for studying the exhibits. He is expected to acquaint himself with the Sverdlovsk region defence industry exposition, to have a close look at the Uralvagonzavod and the Uraltransmash products and to go to the proving ground and see more than 60 new models of weapons and ordnance. The agenda is still kept in secret. According to unofficial data, a defence penetration operation by means of aviation, artillery and different types of ordnance will be trained.
The show organisers prepared a new T-90S tank, BMP-3M infantry fighting vehicle, MIG-29UB Fulcrum aircraft, different weapons and artillery means for the President in case he would wish to personally test them.
Putin is accompanied by Defence Minister Igor Sergeyev and Sverdlovsk region Governor Eduard Rossel.
Law enforcement services have taken unprecedented measures to provide President's security. While he is in Nizhny Tagil the exhibition will not be visited by anybody but specially accredited persons.
