PROMEXPORT HOLDS SEVERAL EFFECTIVE TALKS AT URALEXPOARMS 2000

NIZHNY TAGIL, South-western Siberia, July 14 (AVN) - Promexport state-owned company delegation to the URALEXPOARMS show has conducted a series of effective talks with potential buyers of the Russian arms and materiel and with heads of defence industry enterprises, the Military News Agency learned.

Turkey has shown a huge interest towards the purchase of Arena-E active protection system. Angola, Yemen, Belarus and Uzbekistan were eager to buy vehicles and ordnance armament.

The Promexport leaders have discussed the variants of exporting spare parts and engineer vehicles, built by Uralvagonzavod plant and IFVs built by Kurgan machine-building plant. Agreements were reached with the Arzamas machine-building plant on holding demonstrative tests of BTR-80 and BTR-90 APCs in one of the Middle East countries. The company also agreed with Lytkarin optic glass plant on realisation of a wide spectrum of vision systems, in particular the Skok night vision goggles. The company agreed with Kyshtym radio devices building plant on supplies of small-dimension reconnaissance system with Pchela-1T distantly piloted drone and with Stroi-P ground control and information processing point.
