URALEXPOARMS 2002 SHOW TO HAVE INTL STATUS

NIZHNY TAGIL, South-western Siberia, July 14 (AVN) - The third URALEXPOARMS exhibition will be held here in 2002 and will have the status of international show, Nikolai Danilov, Sverdlovsk region administration chief, told the Military News Agency.

According to him, the show will be held every two years. The exhibition development plan envisages the expanding of the demonstrative halls and pavilions, construction of a comfortable hotel, betterment of the testing ground. The ground is already the best in Russia for conducting arms exhibitions, Danolov said. The URALEXPOARMS 2000 is exhibiting over 60 arms and materiel models, organising 25 different firings. It also has a unique information and measurement complex that airs target hitting on the TV for 40km away. The recently reconstructed Salka military airfield, that is not far from the ground, will be able to give service to practically all types of aircraft.

An exhibition of the Sverdlovsk region conversion and civil products will be held at the local Metal Testing Institute in 2001, Danilov added.
